Ray's Maternal Grandmother, Abbie Husted Bear, with her baby Genevieve, and youngster Mildred.

In this photo Abbie Bear (Ray's Grandmother), is holding her youngest daughter Genevieve (Raymond W Merry's Aunt) on her lap, and Abbie's oldest daughter Mildred (Ray's Mother) is sitting on the right. Abbie died in the Chicago Flu Epidemic in 1919 a few months after this photo was taken. The photo was actually developed and acquired from the photographer in 1924 by the family, 5 years after her death. Abbie was a Husted originally from Roodhouse Illinois.

Abbie was Ralph's Bear's second wife. The first marriage was annulled by Ralph's parents. After Abbie's death Ralph married two more times, making four in all.
